Yuji Ide (井出 有治 in Japanese; born January 21, 1975) is a former Japanese Formula One driver who competed in the first four races of 2006 with Super Aguri but had his Super License revoked after the San Marino Grand Prix for causing Christijan Albers' huge accident. Ide was then replaced by Franck Montagny from Europe to France then Sakon Yamamoto for the rest of the season.

Formula One Career[]

2006[]

Ide was signed up as one of two drivers for Super Aguri in 2006, alongside Takuma Sato.[1] After retiring from his first two races, Ide finished in 13th in the Australian Grand Prix. However, in the San Marino Grand Prix, Ide crashed on the first lap with Christijan Albers, sending the Dutchman into a series of rolls. On May 10, having already been replaced for the next race by Franck Montagny, Ide's Super Licence was revoked, effectively ending his Formula One career after just four races.[2]
