Xavier Roger Perrot (1 February 1932 – 8 December 2008) was a Swiss racing driver and garage owner. He achieved notable success by winning the European Hill Climb Championship in 1972. Prior to that, he competed in Formula Two and participated in the 1969 German Grand Prix driving his Brabham in the Formula Two class.

Formula One Career[]

Perrot initially competed in national motorsport events as both a driver and rally co-driver before transitioning to hillclimbing in the early 1960s, driving cars like a Lotus 23 and an Abarth-Simca. In 1968, he moved to Formula Two, piloting a Brabham BT23C, and after a challenging first season, showed improvement in 1969, finishing fourth in a non-championship race at Hockenheim and sixth in the German Grand Prix’s Formula Two class at Nürburgring, ultimately placing tenth overall. In 1970, Perrot raced a March 702—the first customer car sold by the manufacturer—and secured victory at the Preis von Deutschland Formula Two event at Nürburgring. The following year, he competed with a March 712M, earning third at Imola and making a successful return to hillclimbing, where he won the European Hill Climb Championship in 1972 with a March 722 F2, winning six events. He also occasionally raced this car in Formula Two, earning points in three races and finishing 13th in the championship.

Although he participated in the Formula Two class at a World Championship Formula One event, he never competed in a full F1 World Championship race, though he drove Jo Siffert's ex-works March 701 in the 1971 non-championship Jochen Rindt Memorial Trophy at Hockenheim, finishing 11th. Perrot retired in 1973 to focus on his garage business in Zürich, where he passed away after a long illness in 2008 at age 76.
