Williams FW47[]

The Williams FW47 is a Formula One racing car designed and built by Williams Racing to compete in the 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship. It marks Williams' continued effort to return to competitiveness after several challenging seasons. The FW47 is powered by a Mercedes-AMG F1 power unit and features updated aerodynamics and chassis developments aimed at improving pace and reliability.

Design and Development[]

The FW47 was developed as part of Williams’ ongoing technical partnership with Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains. Building on lessons learned from previous models, the car integrates the latest FIA 2024 technical regulations, including refined aerodynamic concepts and updated floor and diffuser designs to maximize downforce and minimize drag.

The chassis was designed at the Williams headquarters in Grove, Oxfordshire, with an emphasis on structural rigidity and weight optimization to meet the minimum weight limit while allowing strategic ballast placement.
