The Williams FW40 was a car designed by Williams F1 to compete in the 2017 Formula One season. The number '40' signifies the team's 40th anniversary in Formula One, skipping the number '39'.[1] It was driven by Felipe Massa, who postponed his retirement due to Valtteri Bottas' departure to Mercedes, with his teammate being Canadian rookie Lance Stroll. Paul di Resta took Massa's place at the Hungarian Grand Prix after Massa fell ill.[2][3]
