Formula 1 Wiki

Walter "Walt" Faulkner (February 16 1918 - April 22 1956) was a driver from the United States. He competed solely in US oval track racing, including five Indianapolis 500 races. By qualifying for the pole for the 1950 race, he briefly held the record for the youngest driver to win the pole of a Formula 1 race, even though he was 32 at the time.

Faulkner was killed in qualifying for a stock car race in northern California in 1956.
