The Toro Rosso STR11 was a car designed by Scuderia Toro Rosso for the 2016 Formula One season. Their drivers were Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr. at the start of the season, but Verstappen was promoted to Red Bull after the Russian Grand Prix, leaving Daniil Kvyat demoted to the sister team. The car was unveiled on 22nd February in its interim livery, and the livery was unveiled on 1st March.

The STR11's sponsors are Red Bull, Sapinda, Falcon Private Bank, Speed Week, Red Bull Bulletin, Red Bull Mobile, Casio and Red Bull Cola.

Season review[]

Before the start of the 2016 season, Toro Rosso secured a new engine supply deal with Ferrari. The team would use the 2015-spec Ferrari 060 engine for the season.

In qualifying for the Austrian Grand Prix, Verstappen qualified a decent 5th, and Sainz qualified 7th on the grid. However in the race, the strategy was messed up for the team, so Sainz fell back to 9th and Verstappen back to 10th.

After the Russian Grand Prix, Verstappen was promoted to the Red Bull team, demoting Kvyat back to Toro Rosso.
