Tony Shelly (born 2 February 1937 and died 4 October 1998) was a Formula One driver from New Zealand. He competed in three Grand Prix during the 1962 Formula One Season and nine non-championship races that year. He scored no championship points, although he did finish on the podium at the non-championship 1962 Lavant Cup.

He began racing sports cars in New Zealand during 1955. In 1958, he won a race at Teretonga Park driving a Cooper.

In 1962, he moved to Europe to expand his racing career. He mainly drove a Lotus car owned by John Dalton. In April, he debuted in Formula One by finishing 5th at the non-championship 1962 Lombank Trophy. At his next non-championship race, he finished in 3rd place.

In July, he was entered into his first ever Formula One championship race at the 1962 British Grand Prix. His race lasted only 5 laps due to an issue with the cylinder head gasket on his engine. He tried to qualify for the 1962 German Grand Prix, but was unsuccessful. At the following round in Italy, he tried to qualify a Lotus owned by Wolfgang Seidel, but was also unsuccessful, bringing his Formula One career to an end.

In 1962, Colin Chapman recruited Shelly to co-drive the 1962 24 Hours of Le Mans with Les Leston, but the event organizers banned the Lotus cars that year.

After leaving Formula One, he returned to New Zealand. He continued to race until he retired in 1964, although he did make occasional racing appearances even after his retirement.

Outside of racing, he acquired a BMW dealership in the United States. The dealership was previously owned by his father, but had been sold when his father passed away. In 1975, Shelly became an American citizen.
