Formula 1 Wiki

Tony Crook (born 16 February 1920 and died 21 January 2014) was a British racing driver who raced in Formula Two. He participated in the 1952 and 1953 British Grand Prix, where Formula 2 drivers could compete and have their results counted towards the Formula One championship.

He retired from racing in 1955 when he was involved in an accident during a race. However, he had already been planning to retire at the end of the year.

After retiring from motorsport, he focused his time on a car dealership that primarily sold Bristol cars. In 1960, he purchased 40% of Bristol during a company restructuring and became the company's sole distributor. In the Fall of 1969, company owner Sir George White was injured in a car accident. Unable to return to work full-time, White sold his stake in the company to Crook.

In 1997, Crook sold half of the company to Toby Silverton and in 2002 sold his rest of his ownership to Silverton. Crook remained has managing director of the company until 2007. The company hit financial trouble and suspended manufacturing four years later.
