The Swiss Confederation is a country that exists in Central Europe and was founded in 1291. It is renowned for it's mountain scenery, banking industry and tradition of political neutrality.
Switzerland did hold a Formula One Grand Prix between 1950-1954, before the 1955 Le Mans Disaster where at least 84 people died and 120 were injured. Since then all forms of powered vehicle racing have been banned in the country.
