The Renault RS24 was a V10 3.0L naturally-aspirated Formula One engine produced by Renault. It was used to power the Renault R24 car during the 2004 Formula One Season. This was a new engine design, as the team abandoned the previous wide-angled layout of its predecessor the Renault RS23.
The team introduced major upgrades to the engine in the fourth round of the championship at the 2004 San Marino Grand Prix, which saw new cylinder heads, a new inlet system and changes to the bottom of the engine.
The car and engine were featured in Season 5 Episode 8 of the popular automotive show Top Gear. Renault claimed the car could complete a lap of the Top Gear Test Track, a 2.8km figure-8 circuit at Dunsfold Aerodrome in the United Kingdom, in under a minute. The TV show's mute anonymous test driver character, The Stig, drove the car around the circuit in 59 seconds. It was later revealed that the lap was driven by Renault test driver Heikki Kovalainen dressed in The Stig costume.
