Honda RBPTH001 (formerly known as Red Bull RBPTH001) is an engine manufactured by Red Bull Powertrains for use during the 2022 and 2023 seasons for their works team, Red Bull, and sister team, AlphaTauri. It was designed and maintained by Honda.
History[]
Honda used to provide engines to Red Bull and AlphaTauri, but decided to leave Formula One at the end of 2021. Red Bull proposed a engine development freeze for the entire F1 grid, so they could have time to set up their own engine division. This proposal was subsequently approved, which led to the formation of Red Bull Powertrains prior to the start of the 2022 season.
