Racing Bulls S.p.A, officially Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula One Team and competing as Racing Bulls, is an Italy racing team owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull. It was rebranded from AlphaTauri to RB after the 2023 season.
History[]
On June 29, 2023, Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko said in an interview that AlphaTauri would change its name for the 2024 season as part of a team restructuring and relocation that would see team operations move from Italy to the United Kingdom. The team was reportedly shopping its naming rights, including to Aston Martin partner Hugo Boss. On November 22, team CEO Peter Bayer said that the name would incorporate United States sponsors.
On January 24, 2024, the team officially rebranded to RB, incorporating American finance companies Visa and Cash App in their official name as Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team. After the firing of Christian Horner at Red Bull Racing, Laurent Mekies left Racing Bulls and was promoted to Team Principal of RBR whilst Alan Permane has taken over as team principal of Racing Bulls.
