Piero Dusio (born 13 October 1899 and died 7 November 1975) was an Italian businessman and racing driver. He attempted to qualify for the 1952 Italian Grand Prix in a privately entered Cisitalia car, but was unsuccessful.
Dusio was originally a football player in the 1920s, but his career ended early following a knee injury. He then turned to the sporting goods industry prior to World War II. In the early 1930s, he began a career in racing.
In 1944, he founded the automotive manufacturer Cisitalia, which built sports cars and racecars. Using parts from Fiat street cars, the company developed the Cisitalia D46 which made its debut in 1946. Following the success of the D46, the company planned to produce a Grand Prix car.
The car was designed by Porsche, but it proved to be too complicated for the small Italian firm to produce. This caused delays in the development process and eventually led to the financial collapse of Cisitalia. While the car was never raced, it was one of the first race cars designed with a sequential manual transmission.
Dusio moved to Argentina, leaving control of Cisitalia to his son. Once in Argentina, Dusio founded Autoar, which was financially supported by the then President of Argentina, Juan Perón. Perón also reportedly paid off the debts of Cisitalia.
In 1952, he attempted to qualify in one of his Cisitalia D46 cars for the Italian Grand Prix. He failed to set a qualifying time due to reliability issues.
