Paul Goldsmith (born 2 October 1925) was a former American driver who drove the Indianapolis 500 between 1958 and 1963, during which the 1958, 1959 and 1960 Indy 500 races were all part of the Formula One World Drivers Championship.
Formula One Career[]
Goldsmith debuted in the 1958 Indianapolis 500 in a Kurtis Kraft. He qualified 16th but a 15-car pileup on the First Lap ended him up in 30th position, thus retiring from the race as well.
Goldsmith later re-appeared at the 1959 race with a Epperly-Offenhauser car qualifying for 16th place and finished 5th, this receiving his first 2 world championship points.
In the 1960 Indianapolis 500, Goldsmith qualified 26th position but immediately charged up to 3rd position to score 4 more points of his career. His world championship career finished with a total of 6 career points. 2 top 5 finishes and 1 podium
