Season review[]

The 2013 season was the first time that McLaren failed to finish on the podium since 1980, failed to qualify in the top five since 1983 and the first time without winning since 2006. During the season, the MP4-28 never retired from a race, being classified in every single race.

Their best qualifying result was a sixth place at the Belgian Grand Prix, and their best race result was a fourth place in Brazil. McLaren ended up in fifth in the Constructors' Championship, with 122 points.
