Max Jean (born 27 July 1943) is a French former racecar driver who participated in Formula Two and Formula Three. Through his involvement with the Frank Williams Racing Cars team in Formula Two, he managed to race in the 1971 French Grand Prix driving an outdated March.

After winning the Formula France championship in 1968 while driving for Ecurie GRAC, the team constructed a Formula Three car for the 1969 season. His results in Formula Three were lacking and he parted ways with the team for 1970.

He secured funding from Motul, a French lubricants manufacturer. He used the sponsorship money to secure a works-supported rid in Formula Three with Tecno, also joining their works Formula Two team.

In 1971, he used his sponsorship with Motul to secure a seat on the independently owned Frank Williams Racing Cars team, driving their Formula Two car. He was also given the opportunity to race in the 1971 French Grand Prix using the team's 1970-spec March 701 car. He qualified for the race, but suffered from a malfunctioning gearbox in the race. Despite this, he managed to finish the race, although he was nine laps behind the leader and did not finish enough of the race distance to be classified in the race.

At the end of the season, he left Williams and began scaling back his racing career. In 1972, he participated in two Formula Two races with Rondel Racing, bringing them a much-needed cash injection from the Motul sponsorship.

In 1973, he moved to French Formula Three, driving for the ORECA team. He struggled to earn points in the series and at the end of the season, Motul pulled their sponsorship. Jean retired.
