The Lotus 44 was a Formula Two car, built by Lotus for the 1966 season. Unfortunately the 1.0 liter Cosworth engine was underpowered compared to the Honda used by other teams.

A three car team using 44s entered the Formula Two class of the 1966 German Grand Prix, for drivers Pedro Rodríguez, Piers Courage and Gerhard Mitter. All three cars retired.
