Lamborghini, or formally known as Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., is an Italian manufacturer of sports cars and SUVs. The company was founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini, who sought to create grand touring cars that were more refined than those offered by marques such as Ferrari and Maserati. Lamborghini never became directly involved in racing, feeling that a racing program would be too much of a drain on resources.
Today Lamborghini is fully owned by the Volkswagen Group, through it's Audi subsidiary.
