José Abed (5 February 1940 - 2 June 2022) was a Mexican motorsport administrator who has served as a Vice President for Sport representing North America since 2006. He began competing in motorsport in 1961, and was one of the founders of the Mexican Organisation of International Motor Sport (OMDAI) which represents Mexico at the FIA. He was a vice president of the organisation from 1985 to 1999, and became president in 2003. He was also the president of the Mexican Grand Prix organising committee from 1986 to 1992. He has more recently has designated as a Steward at Formula One races, since 1987.[1]
