Jolyon Carlyle Palmer (born 20 January 1991) is a British Formula One driver who formerly drove for Renault from 2016 to 2017. He won the 2014 GP2 Series championship by 47 points, a result which earned him his testing role with Lotus for 2015.[1] Jolyon is the son of former F1 driver/commentator Jonathan Palmer.

After a season of testing, the Enstone-based outfit announced at the 2015 United States Grand Prix that Palmer would take over Romain Grosjean's recently vacated race seat for 2016.[2] At his sixteenth Grand Prix, in Malaysia, Palmer scored his first ever point. He competed in his last race at the 2017 Japanese Grand Prix, as Carlos Sainz, Jr. made an early move to Renault starting from the United States Grand Prix.[3]
