'Johnny Thomson (born 9 April 1922 and died 24 July 1960) was an American racecar driver who participated in eight Indianapolis 500 races between 1953 and 1960. During this period, the Indianapolis 500 was included in the Formula One championship.

He qualified for pole position in the 1959 Indianapolis 500, but lost the race lead to Rodger Ward in the first half of the race. However, he finished on the podium in 3rd place and set the fastest lap of the race.

Thomson was killed in an accident while participating in a race at the Great Allentown Fair on September 24, 1960.
