Johnny Mantz (born 18 September 1918 and died 25 October 1972) was an American racing driver who participated in the 1953 Indianapolis 500 as a relief driver for Walt Faulkner. The two drivers shared 17th place in the race.

He raced in the AAA Championship Car series in 1948 and 1949 in the majority of the races. However, in 1950, his participating in the series dwindled to only the occasional race including the 1952 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb and 1953 Indianapolis 500.

He was also involved in stock car racing. In 1956, he was the first USAC Stock Car national champion. In 1950, he was the winner of the inaugural Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, which was NASCAR's first 500-mile race.

In 1958, he retired from racing. He was briefly a spokesperson for Ford, appearing in several magazine advertisements in the early 1960s.

He was killed in an auto accident in 1972.
