Johnnie Parsons (born July 4, 1918 in Los Angeles, California – died September 8, 1984 in Van Nuys, California) was a United States driver who took part in the AAA Championships, winning it in 1949 and winning the famous Indianapolis 500 in 1950.
His nine World Championship starts all came at the Indy 500 events as during early GP seasons, these counted towards the Formula One World Championship.
Formula One Career[]
In 1950, Parsons won the shortened Indianapolis 500, setting fastest lap[1] in the process thus scoring nine Formula One World Championship points.
Parsons would race at every 500 from 1950–1958, his best finish other than 1950 being a fourth-place finish at the 1956 event giving him a further three World Championship points.

- ↑ This was, in fact, the fastest leading lap, not the fastest lap of all the drivers. Only leading laps was recorded and considered for the fastest lap points, and Parsons obtained the one point for the fastest lap.
