Joe James (born 23 May 1925 and died 5 November 1952) was an American racing driver who participated in three Indianapolis 500 races between 1950 and 1952, during which time it was part of the Formula One championship. He qualified for the event twice, finishing the race distance once in 13th position. He scored no points towards the Formula One championship.
He was killed in an accident during a Champ Car race at the San Jose Speedway located at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in California.
