Jirko Malchárek is a former test driver for Minardi. He was born on June 28, 1966 in what is now Czechia. He graduated from the Slovak Institute of Technology in Bratislava, and later served on the National Council of Slovakia. Malchárek was at times the Minister of Economy and Deputy Prime Minister for Slovakia.

He was involved in racing for more than 11 years, including the FIA GT series. He is also a co-founder of BECEP, a non-profit foundation for automobile, motorcycle, bicycle and pedestrian safety in Slovakia.
