Royal Richard "Jim" Rathmann (July 16, 1928 - November 23, 2011) was an American racing driver, who completed all but one of the Indianapolis 500s when it was part of the Formula One World championship.

Rathmann and his older brother strangely swapped first names as teenagers. The younger Rathmann wanted to start racing, but was underage. So he borrowed his brother's ID, and became "Jim", while his older brother became "Dick". The change was intended to be temporary, but stuck for life.

Jim Rathmann won the last Indy 500 to be held on the F1 calendar in 1960.
