John Calvin "Jay" Abney (July 27, 1927-April 10, 1991) was an American motorcycle and racing car driver who entered one Formula One race for Kurtis Kraft-Offenhauser in 1956, the 1956 Indianapolis 500, but failed to qualify.

He began his career in motorbikes in 1940, doing relatively well in the discipline. He moved into car racing, and continued in this discipline until his retirement in 1960. He became a car dealer in Arizona and California until his death in 1991.
