Johannes "Jan" Lammers (born 2 June 1956 in Zandvoort, Zandvoort Municipality, North Holland, Netherlands) is a Dutch former racing driver and team principal who raced in Formula One in two separate spells, from 1979 to 1982 and in 1992. Lammers never got a drive a front-running car and racked up a large number of non-qualifications.
Lammers' first taste of F1 was in 1979, driving for the Shadow team, failing to score a point. Moving to ATS for 1980, his luck didn't improve and halfway through the season he moved to Ensign – overall he failed to qualify eight times in the season. Returning to ATS for 1981, Lammers lasted four races. He joined Theodore midway through 1982, but left the Hong Kong team before the end of the season.
Lammers then made his career in sportcar racing, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1988 for Jaguar, and also in IndyCar.
Lammers made a surprise return to F1 in the penultimate race of the 1992 season, marking the longest gap between successive F1 drives – a gap amounting to March chassis, but was given a contract for 1993. However, March were unable to fulfill their entries and Lammers' second career was over.
10 years and 92 days. He failed to score any points in the poorAfter this, Lammers spent a season in British Touring Cars before starting his own Sportscar team, later running the Dutch A1 Grand Prix effort.
