The Haas VF-22 is a car designed and constructed by Haas.
The car is powered by Ferrari engines, and driven by Mick Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen. This car uses a similar engine to its predecessor, the Haas VF-21, due to a performance-related engine development freeze that's in place until 2025.[1]
Nikita Mazepin was supposed to race this car, but Haas severed ties with him and chose to bring back K-Mag. It appears this decision was made because of his family's close ties to President Putin of Russia. Russia's invasion of Ukraine provoked international calls for condemnation and boycotts of anyone and anything that could help fund Russia's invasion, which Haas catered to as they are an American-based team.
