They currently hold the record for the most Grand Prix starts (56) without scoring a point.
History[]
2010[]
The team first entered the sport in 2010; along with Lotus Racing, Virgin Racing, and USF1. They were originally entered as Campos Meta, owned by Adrián Campos; however, due to financial difficulties, Campos had sold the team to Colin Kolles, and the team was renamed Hispania Racing Team. For the 2010 season, the team signed Bruno Senna (nephew of three time champion Ayrton Senna), and Indian Karun Chandhok. However, after the British Grand Prix, Chandhok was replaced by Sakon Yamamoto, and then by Christian Klien for Singapore, Brazil, and Abu Dhabi.
Despite being the slowest of the new teams, the were slightly more reliable, and managed to finish higher than Virgin, due to more 14th place finishes.
2011[]
For the 2011 season, the team had a complete different lineup, Vitantonio Liuzzi and Narain Karthikeyan.
2012[]
In 2012 the team retained Narain Karthikeyan, and signed Pedro de la Rosa.
Throughout the season, the team was in doubt over finances. Ahead of the 2013 season, HRT F1 were omitted from the provisional entry list as the team were looking for a buyer in time for the new season. In December 2012, having failed to find a buyer, it was announced that the team had gone into liquidation.
