A Grand Chelem (preferred term) or Grand Slam (alternative term) is scored in motor racing if a driver scores pole position in qualifying, the fastest lap in the race and then winning while leading every lap of the race in the same weekend. This significant feat is comparable to a perfect game in baseball, or a 300-game in ten-pin bowling.
To date, only 26 drivers have secured a Grand Chelem. There have been 65 in total.
Juan Manuel Fangio took the first Grand Slam in a Formula One World Championship race at the 1950 Monaco Grand Prix. It was only the second World Championship race. Jim Clark obtained the most Grand Slams, with eight, amazingly all achieved in a 32-race period which spanned just over three years. The most recent was at the 2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix by Max Verstappen; it was his second Grand Slam.
