Geoff Duke (born 29 March 1923 and died 1 May 2015) was a British motorcycle racer who raced primarily 500cc motorcycles. He raced in the Grand Prix motorcycle World Championship between 1950 and 1959, winning six championship titles within that time and amassing 33 wins. He was also a six-winner at the Isle of Man TT.

In 1961, a Cooper was entered into the 1961 German Grand Prix, but it was not ready in time for the race. A couple of weeks later, he raced the car at a non-championship race at the Karlskoga Motorstadion in Sweden. He crashed on lap 10.
