Frank Luptow (born Franklin Lueptow 20 November 1915 and died 21 September 1952) was an American racing driver. He attempted to qualify for the 1952 Indianapolis 500, but failed to do so. This was his only Indianapolis 500 participation, as he was killed a few months later in a racing accident.
He began racing before World War II. During the war, he worked as a tank test driver. After the war, he continued to work with a tank manufacturer.
In the late 1940s, he began racing in the International Motor Contest Association big cars series, becoming a three-time champion from 1949 to 1951. During this time, he also raced in some NASCAR races.
In 1952, he moved to the American Automobile Association (AAA) big cars series as well as stock cars. While racing a stock car at Lakewood Speedway, the front axle of his car broke. This caused the car to roll and Luptow was partially ejected from the car. He died shortly after the accident due to head injuries because the car had rolled on top of him.
Luptow had originally planned to race in a different event, but was convinced to race at Lakewood Speedway by AAA, who wanted more popular drivers at that race.
