The Ferrari 056 was a V8 2.4L naturally-aspirated engine designed by Ferrari for the Formula One seasons 2006-2013.

In addition to powering the Ferrari 248 F1, the engine was also supplies to Red Bull for the Red Bull RB2. This was the first engine used to power a Red Bull car.
During pre-season testing, Red Bull suffered with cooling issues, which severely limited the amount of running they could complete. Ferrari had issues with the engine early in the season, suffering from an ongoing issue with the pistons in the engine. This required the engine speed to be limited to prevent further problems.
However, multiple updates were brought to the engine during the season to improve the performance and reliability of the engine.
