Elmer George (born 15 July 1928 and died 31 May 1976) was an American racecar driver who raced in the AAA and USAC Championship Car series between 1954 and 1964. The Indianapolis 500 was part of the Formula One championship from 1950 to 1960, so George's three participations in the event during that time counted towards the championship. He scored no championship points.
Having failed to qualify for the 1955 Indianapolis 500, he successfully qualified for the 1957 race, starting 9th on the grid. However, he collided with Eddie Russo on the pace lap before the start of the race, forcing both drivers to retire.
A subsequent attempt to qualify the following year, was unsuccessful. He did manage to qualify for and start the Indianapolis 500 in both 1962 and 1963, although he never completed the race distance.
