Derek Daly (born 11 March 1953 in Ballinteer, Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Dublin Region, Republic of Ireland) is a retired Irish racing driver who competed in Formula One in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
His son, Conor Daly, was a test driver for Force India in 2012 and currently competes in the IndyCar Series.
Daly started his career with the Hesketh team in 1978, failing to qualify for three races. In the second half of the season, he drove for Ensign, scoring a point at the Canadian Grand Prix. He remained at Ensign for 1979 before leaving midway through the season; Tyrrell gave him three races in the latter half of the year. Staying at Tyrrell for 1980, Daly scored fourth-place finishes. Leaving for March, Daly had a difficult 1981. Daly moved to Theodore for the first three races of 1982 before he was signed by Williams as a replacement for the retired Carlos Reutemann and scored five points finishes. At the end of the season, Daly was left without a drive and left to drive in America in the CART series.
