David William Charlton (born October 27, 1936 in Brotton, Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom – died February 24, 2013 in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa) was a motor racing driver who competed in Formula One, mainly in the South African Grand Prix. He competed in 13 races, starting 11 but scoring no points. He is considered to be one of the best drivers to have come from South Africa, and won the South African Formula One Championship six times in a row from 1970 to 1975.
He drove for the works teams of Brabham and Lotus, and competed with privately entered Lotuses, Brabhams and McLarens.
