George Dario Marino Franchitti MBE (born May 19 1973 in Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland) is a retired British racing driver who, prior to a career in North American open-wheel series', was a test driver for Jaguar for the 2000 Formula One Season. His cousin, Paul di Resta, competed for Force India from 2010 to 2013.

Franchitti was seriously injured in an IndyCar crash at the 2013 Grand Prix of Houston in which, following contact with the car of Takuma Sato, Franchitti was launched into the catch fencing at high speed. The Scottish driver broke an ankle and two vertebrae in his spine, effectively ending his racing career. On his recovery, Franchitti announced his retirement less than six weeks later on medical advice.

Following his retirement, Franchitti was announced as a commentator for coverage of the inaugural Formula E championship.
