Formula 1 Wiki

Chuck Stevenson (born 15 October 1919 and died 21 August 1995) was an American racecar driver who entered the Indianapolis 500 from 1951 to 1954 and from 1960 to 1965. His Indianapolis 500 results between 1951 and 1960 were included in the Formula One championship, although he failed to score any points towards the championship.

His best Indianapolis 500 finish was 6th at the 1961 Indianapolis 500, but the race was no longer included on the Formula One schedule at that time.

Stevenson took a break from racing open-wheel cars in 1955 to focus on the USAC Stock Car series, also making some appearances in the NASCAR Cup Series. He returned to open-wheel racing in 1960.
