Carlos Alberto Reutemann (born April 12, 1942 – died July 7, 2021) was an Argentine Formula One racing driver who competed in the sport from 1972 until 1982. After concluding his Formula One career, Reutemann moved into Argentine Politics where he was elected as Governor of Santa Fe in 1985, a position he held until 1995. In 1999 he was re-elected as Governor of Santa Fe and held the position until 2003. From 2003 through his death in 2021, Reutemann was a Senator in the Argentine Legislative. He had been regularly been requested to run for the Presidency of Argentina but on all accounts rejected the proposals.
