Brian McGuire (Melbourne, December 13, 1945 - Brands Hatch, August 29, 1977) was an Australian car driver. An experienced racing driver from Australia, he migrated to Europe with his friend and future world champion Alan Jones in an attempt to succeed in motorsport. After racing the F-3, he bought a 1975 Formula 1 Williams in 1976 to compete in the British Shellsport (Formula 1 and Formula 5000 cars category), earning a victory at Thruxton. He remodeled this car, and appeared in practice for the British Grand Prix with the Cosworth-powered McGuire BM1 car, failing to pass the pre-qualification held on Wednesday. It was his only attempt (he did not start at the same British Grand Prix in 1976).

Brian McGuire passed away a month and a half later, on August 29, due to an accident at a club event in Brands Hatch. He was 31 years old.
