Bernard White Racing

Bernard White Racing was a British private team for the FIA Formula One World Championship. The team was founded by Bernard White and raced between 1966 and 1968 using the BRM P261.

Chassis and Engines[]

The team utilized the BRM P261 chassis, equipped with:

1966: BRM P60 1.9L V8 engine
1967: BRM P60 2.1L V8 engine
1968: BRM P101 3.0L V12 engine

Legacy[]

Despite limited success, Bernard White Racing's involvement in Formula 1 highlighted the era's privateer spirit, where independent teams competed alongside factory-backed giants. The team's best result—a 4th place finish by Bob Bondurant in the 1966 United States Grand Prix—remains a notable achievement for a privately funded outfit.

After the team's departure from Formula 1, Bernard White continued his motorsport endeavors, including entries in sports car racing. His legacy is remembered for contributing to the rich tapestry of Formula 1's history during the 1960s.
