The 2020 British Grand Prix (officially the Formula 1 Pirelli British Grand Prix 2020)[1] was the fourth race of the 2020 Formula One season, the seventy-fifth time the British Grand Prix was held, and the fifty-sixth time it was held at the Silverstone Circuit. It was held between 31 July and 2 August 2020.
Prior to the race, Racing Point driver Sergio Pérez was tested positive for COVID-19, resulting him to miss the race while being self-isolated. As a result, former driver Nico Hülkenberg was called in to replace him.
Lewis Hamilton had a spin during Q2 but was still able to take pole position. He won the race despite suffering a puncture on the final lap, just being able to win ahead of Max Verstappen. Charles Leclerc completed the podium as Valtteri Bottas suffered the same puncture a lap earlier, resulting him finishing outside the points.

When the cars were being started for the formation lap, the engine of the Racing Point of Nico Hülkenberg refused to start, making him a non-starter. It was later determined that a bolt in the clutch had broken, lodging in a spot that prevented the engine from turning over.[7]
Giles Peroni Mercedes team joined on the podium to receive the winning manufacturer’s award.
