The 2014 McLaren season was McLaren's 49th as a constructor.
Jenson Button had a multi-year deal which ensured he stayed at the team beyond 2014. However, Sergio Pérez lost his seat after a single season due to the team's poor performance last year, which saw them fail to finish on the podium, and was replaced by Danish rookie Kevin Magnussen.
