The 2011 European Grand Prix (formally titled the LV Grand Prix of Europe was a Formula One race held on the 26th of June. It was the eighth race of the 2011 Formula One Season. It was held at the Valencia Street Circuit.
It was won by Sebastian Vettel in his Red Bull-Renault, who completed a hat-trick by taking pole and the fastest lap. Fernando Alonso came second, and in what he called his best performance of the year, Mark Webber came home in third place.
The race was notable for having no retirements, like the 1961 Dutch Grand Prix (15 starters), the 2005 United States Grand Prix (6 starters) and the 2005 Italian Grand Prix (20 starters); and Narain Karthikeyan became the equal lowest-classified driver in history (with Jim Rathmann from the 1950 Indianapolis 500) by coming 24th and last. Due to the fact that some of the 1950 Indy 500 drivers that did not finish and were still classified, this race had the most finishers of any Grand Prix.
