The 2007 European Grand Prix was the 10th race of the 2007 Formula One Season, held on July 22 at the Nürburgring. The race, which was run in changeable weather conditions was won by McLaren-Mercedes driver, Fernando Alonso. The race, which started in heavy rain, is perhaps best remembered for an inspired performance on debut by Spyker-Ferrari driver Markus Winkelhock who lead for 6 laps after starting at the back of the grid. This was, however, Winkelhock's only F1 race to date.
