Report[]
Day One[]
On the 12th May 1998, McLaren-Mercedes conducted a one-day test at the Circuit Lurcy-Levis, a motor racing test circuit only 30 kilometres away from Magny-Cours. The team used their test driver and Formula 3000 race driver Nick Heidfeld as their designated driver for the test. Heidfeld conducted aeroydynamic mapping tests making use of the long Lurcy-Levis straight that also serves as a runway. After McLaren's single day of testing at Lurcy-Levis with Heidfeld, the team packed up and headed for Magny-Cours for the remainder of the week to conduct the majority of their testing work.
Day Two[]
One day after the McLaren test, Prost-Peugeot arrived at Lurcy-Levis with Olivier Panis to conduct engine mapping work following a day of testing at Magny-Cours. The following day on Thursday, Prost and Panis returned to Magny-Cours to conduct testing.
Day Three[]
After testing at Magny-Cours in the morning, Prost returned to Lurcy-Levis on Thursday, this time with Jarno Trulli to continue their testing.
