The 1985 Formula One season was the 36th season of the FIA Formula One World Championship.
It began on April 7, 1985 in Brazil, and finished after sixteen races on November 3, 1985 in Australia.
The season was dominated by Alain Prost in his McLaren-TAG. Prost won the Drivers' Championship by 20 points over Michele Alboreto. McLaren also won the Constructors' Championship, but by only an eight-point margin over Alboreto's Ferrari team.
