The 1961 International Gold Cup was a non-championship race, held at Oulton Park on September 23. The race was won by Stirling Moss in an Emeryson-Climax, the only time that a four-wheel-drive car has won a Formula 1 race. Second went to two-time defending World Champion Jack Brabham, and in third was polesitter Bruce McLaren, both in Coopers.

Moss's victory is largely attributed to the early fall wet conditions.
