The 1957 British Grand Prix, or known as the Grand Prix d'Europe (Incorporating the 10th R.A.C. British Grand Prix), was held on July 20 at the Aintree Motor Racing Circuit near Liverpool. A huge crowd witnessed the first ever victory for a British car, with a Vanwall in a shared drive for Tony Brooks and Stirling Moss taking the flag. Second place went to Luigi Musso in a Lancia-Ferrari, with his teammate Mike Hawthorn in third.
